Changing Majors

Opening Grades

  1. Sophomore
  2. Junior (only for those who were majoring in a same college)
    * College refers to departments or Arts, Sports, Liberal art and Natural sciences.

Number of Places

Criteria for Eligibility As An Applicant

  • Sophomore
    • Students who have finished a freshman and earned more than 28 grades out of 35(which is 80% of credits for completing a freshman).
    • Students who must have more than a GPA of 2.0
  • Junior
    • Students who have finished a freshman and sophomore and earned more than 56 grades out of 70(which is 80% of credits for completing a sophomore)
    • Students who must have more than a GPA of 2.0 and were studying the same field.
    • Only can changed majors within the same college.

Restriction in Application

  1. It is not allowed to change majors between campuses (only transferable in the same campus)
  2. It is not allowed to change to school of Pharmacy and school of Medicine.
  3. extra admitted students apart from quota, readmitted students, transfer students, special admission students in departments of Arts, Sports, liberal arts, and natural sciences will not be allowed to change their majors.
  4. Students only can change their majors once while in school.
  5. Students cannot change their majors in the same college.

Selection Criteria

  • If there are more applicants than places opened, students will be selected through an English exam which is unrelated to their grades.
  • If there are less applicants than places opened, students will be selected based on the interview and their grades.
  1. Standard for candidates who gained same points
    ① An applicant with higher GPAs
    ② An applicant who is younger
  2. Applicants who are absent or rejected at the interview will be not selected
  3. Those who are considered to be unsuitable for changing majors due to a remarkably low grade can be ruled out from selections.

Other Information

  1. Students who are admitted to change their majors must register.
  2. Students who are admitted to a college must pay tuition fees after issuing the bill at the accounting department through the academic management. If students already have paid their fees to their previous college (or department), they will pay or get a refund on the difference(or the extra costs).
  3. All the courses which students completed in their previous colleges will be accepted.
  4. Sophomore students who changed their majors must enroll-in 6times or more and those who changed their majors in junior must enroll-in 4times or more. However students who have admitted in a 5year system college, sophomore students must enroll-in at least 8 times, and junior students must enroll-in at least 6 times.
